Dean Jeffries Award 2025

This years recipient is always available to help with the set up and pack down during concert days.  On the odd occasion when she is not feeling 100%, she still makes an effort to make it to rehearsals where she plays beautifully and supports the other members of her section – especially newer members. In addition to playing she also takes on solo spots as a vocalist adding a special element of interest to band concerts. Most recently, for the family concert, she sang her heart out (quite literally), even though she was very unwell. She is a very friendly and bubbly person. I am so honoured to have her in our band and know that she really is deserving of this award.
Cherie Surman is an outstanding young lady.
