This year’s award winner has been in the band for close to two decades. In all that time this band member has put in an enormous amount of time & effort into playing their instrument. They have also had an excellent attendance record, at both rehearsals & concerts, and not even a physical injury prevented them from playing….albeit with a shift to a slightly different instrument. However, what truly makes this year’s award winner stand out has been their willingness to take on one of the hardest and, possibly, least desired positions within the band, namely the role of Librarian. This band member has put a huge amount of time & effort into clearing up & modernising our massively overflowing and, dare I say it, outdated library. They have also set aside numerous weekends in order to achieve this goal, as well as ensuring that music for rehearsals are out of the library and ready to go into everyone’s folders in a timely fashion. So it is with great pleasure that we present this award to Merrilie Rowley.
