    Life Membership is the highest award available to recognise the valuable contribution of individuals to the Payneham City Concert Band. It is therefore only awarded in exceptional circumstances and is awarded only when recommended and agreed by the committee, it is not awarded every year.
    In considering the award of Life Membership an individual must have demonstrated significant, sustained and high quality service, enhancing the reputation and future of the Payneham City Concert Band, and leaving a noteworthy legacy.  Mere membership of the band alone is not sufficient to be awarded Life Membership.  Having said this as new members join the band, and join the committee we often overlook the contribution of those who were supporting the band before we started, not because we mean to but because we just don’t know what happened before we started and just because someone isn’t actively on the committee now doesn’t mean they haven’t given a significant contribution to the band in the past.
    Taking all of this into consideration and drawing on the vast historical knowledge provided to the band by Faye Jeffries and other long term members, the committee and band wish to acknowledge the ongoing commitment to PCCB by Graham Smith over his 50 years of membership.

    We thank you Graham for your ongoing support of the Payneham City Concert Band and for all of your contributions over your many years of playing with us.
